Who are the sessions for?
Anyone with a disability, mental health condition or neurodivergence who wants to try surfing. We work with children, adults, families and carers. If you’re not sure whether a session is right for you, ask — we’ll talk it through honestly.
Do I need any surfing experience?
No. Most of the people we work with have never surfed before. Every session is built around the individual, whether that’s a first splash in the shallows or catching unbroken waves.
What kit do I need to bring?
Just swimwear, a towel and something warm for afterwards. We provide wetsuits, boards and any adaptive equipment needed. If you have your own kit you’d rather use, bring it.
Are the coaches qualified to work with disabled surfers?
Yes. Our coaches hold recognised surf coaching qualifications alongside specific training and experience in adaptive surfing. Safety in the water and understanding individual needs are non-negotiable for us.
Can a carer or family member come in the water?
Absolutely. Carers, parents and support workers are welcome in the water or on the beach — whatever works best for the surfer. Let us know in advance so we can plan the session properly.
Where do sessions take place?
On the beaches around Bude, Cornwall. We choose the spot based on conditions, tides and what suits the surfer on the day. You’ll get the exact location when you book.
How much do sessions cost?
We keep sessions as accessible as possible and work hard to reduce cost barriers through community support and donations. Get in touch and we’ll talk you through current pricing and any funded places available.
What if the weather or sea isn't safe?
Safety comes first. If conditions aren’t right, we’ll reschedule — no charge, no fuss. We’d rather move a session than compromise on how it runs.
