About AdSurf
Surfing that starts with what you can do
We're a Bude-based team of adaptive surf coaches, volunteers and locals making the sea reachable for people with disabilities, mental health conditions and neurodiversity.

Why the sea
Saltwater does something no waiting room can
For a lot of our surfers, the beach is the first place all week where nothing needs explaining. Buoyancy takes the weight off. The noise drops away. Whatever happens on the wave happens on their terms — with a coach beside them, not in front of them.

Why we do this
Built around the person in the water
AdSurf started with a simple observation: the sea does something for people that very little else can — but too many people in Bude were being left on the beach. We're a small team of qualified adaptive surf coaches, working alongside an incredible local community, to change that. Every session is built around the person in the water: their body, their mind, their pace.
Adaptive, not adjusted
Our sessions are designed from the ground up for disabled, neurodivergent and mental-health audiences — not standard sessions with a few tweaks.
Qualified coaches
Every session is led by coaches with specific training and experience in adaptive surf instruction, alongside standard surf qualifications.
Rooted in Bude
We work hand-in-hand with the local surf community, lifeguards and volunteers who make safe, accessible sessions possible.
Everyone welcome
Whatever your ability, neurotype or mental health, if you want to try surfing — we want to help you get in the water.
Our team
The people in the water with you
AdSurf runs on a small team of qualified adaptive surf coaches and volunteers from the Bude surf community. Between us, we bring years of coaching, lifesaving and lived experience — and a shared belief that the sea should be open to everyone.
